We’re just a couple days away from the grown-ish series premiere! Get ready with new featurettes with BTS cast interviews, plus watch the opening sequence.
Happy New Year friends, and may our 2018 be filled with even more opportunities for fun fangirling/fanboying over awesome popular media entertainment!
With this goal in mind, I’m even more excited about kicking off the year with the new series, grown-ish, which premieres just two days from now on Freeform.
grown-ish follows Zoey, the Johnsons’ popular, entitled, stylish and socially active 17-year-old daughter, as she begins her freshman year of college at Southern California University. The series will tackle current social issues and complexities facing both students and administrators.
Freeform has released two new featurettes to help us get ready for the show.
The first includes behind-the-scenes interviews with Yara Shahidi, Kenya Barris, Chris Parnell, Francia Raisa, and others talking about Zoey’s frame of mind as a small fish in the big pond that is college. grown-ish will focus on how these characters experience lots of firsts, as well as the authentic experiences that are part of this transition period from child to adult:
And in this second featurette, (aptly called “The Freshman 15”) the cast shares 15 things to look forward to in grown-ish season 1:
The special two-episode premiere of grown-ish will air this Wednesday, January 3 at 8:00pm ET|PT and we’ll be live tweeting. Check out the opening credits featuring “Grown”, written/produces by Chloe x Halle for the theme song!
