The Great War has arrived! Watch the latest Game of Thrones trailer to see new alliances being formed. Also, take a look at EW’s Stark Family Reunion!
It’s been a little over a month since we got our first look at new images from Game of Thrones Season 7 and we see where in Westeros our favorite (and not so favorite) characters are. We also get some clues into the upcoming alliances.
Well, yesterday afternoon HBO finally released the full trailer for the upcoming season and things will be just as tense as we’ve been anticipating.
We begin with Cersei in King’s Landing. She paces around a giant map of Westeros and describes the opponents that are pressing in on her from all sides. She’s still confident that she can win.
Yet, we know that those coming for the Iron Throne are menacing!
Dany sets up her headquarters at Dragonstone with her formidable force (Unsullied, Dothraki, Dragons). She’s joined by they Martells, Tyrells, and Yara and Theon Greyjoy. Meanwhile the rest of the Ironborn, led by Euron Greyjoy, don’t plan to be left out of the bid for power.
In the North, Jon plots his next move, but they way Ser Davos describes it, they might be more interested in alliances to fend off White Walkers rather than focussing on the Iron Throne.
Still, there are some other players are still floating on the chess board, and we’re not really sure what their impact might be. Arya and Bran are also in the North. Petyr Baelish is in Winterfell trying to sew dissension between Jon and Sansa. And Melissandre seems to have made her way south, possibly to Dany…
The Great War is here…
And according to a recent Entertainment Weekly interview with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Kit Harington, the pace of Season 7 moves pretty quickly:
“I feel like I’d been lulled into a different pace,” Coster-Waldau says. “Everything happened quicker than I’m used to … a lot of things that normally take a season now take one episode.”
Agrees Jon Snow actor Kit Harington: “This season is really different than any other season because it’s accelerating toward the end, a lot of stuff collides and happens much much quicker than you’re used to seeing on Thrones … it’s so different than what everybody is used to. It’s quite exciting.”
This likely means people are going to die… LOTS OF PEOPLE. I’m just am hoping-praying-wishing that it’s not the Starks or Dany or Tyrion!

Speaking of the Starks, this week’s EW issue gives us the Stark Family Reunion we’ve been dreaming of. Sophie Turner, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Kit Harington, and Maisie Williams are featured on five different covers, and also includes a photo shoot and interview. (You can get your copies HERE!)
Also, take a look at the sweet video below where the actors speculate about what a Stark Family Reunion would actually entail:
