Tonight we learn even more about Ginny’s youth and family life when we meet her mother! Get a sneak peek of the new episode of Pitch.

Each week, Pitch just keeps getting better and better! And what’s even more fascinating is how Ginny Baker’s character unfolds in the present and past. And who she was as maade her journey to the Major League is very much connected to who she is now.
Last week (“Beanball“) the Padres team, as a whole, seemed to be turmoil. Al was trying to save his job as manager (and was able to do so by appealing to one of the Padres board members, Maxine; she then put pressure on the team owner, Frank, who was also her (ex)husband!).
The Padres were going up against the St. Louis Cardinals, and their pitcher was responsible for breaking Tommy’s hand last season. Despite Lawson’s warnings, Ginny wanted to get revenge for Tommy and the team… and she did it! But when it was her turn for bat (meaning that the Cardinals’ pitcher “The Mountain” would be gunning for her).
But things got even more interesting with Ginny stepped up to the plate… her ex-boyfriend, Trevor was the catcher! She realized that there was something foul going on…I mean, “The Mountain” wasn’t even pitching in the strike zone. So Ginny escalated the situation, Tommy rushed the field to join in, and FIGHT!
It was interesting to see this part of Ginny’s past. She wanted to avoid getting into a relationship with another baseball player so her teammates and others would focus on her skills as a player. But being with Trevor was different… or so she thought. Ginny went out with Trevor and agreed to take their relationship public since he said he was leaving baseball anyway. And in the end, Trevor was traded to the Cardinals’ Triple A team. So Ginny felt betrayed…
…But things got even more complicated when, in the present, after the game, Trevor revealed that photos of them were hacked from his cloud… yikes! (Although, I must say, that unless they’re naked pics, I’m not sure what the issue is… Also, I like Trevor! *hides*)
In the end, Ginny and Lawson shared a friendship moment (and maybe made plans to play golf), Ginny and Tommy were in a better place, which was good because they’d be team’s two pitchers.
But this week, we learn even more when we meet Ginny’s mother! In “The Break”:
Mike suffers an injury that could affect his spot in the MLB All-Star Game. Meanwhile Ginny struggles to find a balance between her baseball career and her personal life and members of the Padres are blindsided when Oscar signs Livan Duarte (Christian Ochoa), a superstar catcher from Cuba. From the episode trailer and images (below) Ginny is in for a time tonight… fall-out from being named to the All-Star Team, lingering tension with her mother, and lots of flashbacks!
