Lucy, Rufus, and Wyatt chase Flynn to 1865 and might end up saving Abraham Lincoln in the process… get a sneak peek of tonight’s Timeless!

You guys, I loved Timeless even more than I originally thought I would.
The premise is so interesting! Sometime in the near future, U.S. Homeland Security assembles a team made up of a renowned historian (Professor Lucy Preston), a Delta Force sergeant (Wyatt Logan), and an engineer (Rufus Carlin) to chase a major bad guy (Garcia Flynn) throughout history to prevent him from eliminating America.
Right away, I love the characters. I’m intrigued by Lucy’s desire to fill her mother’s shoes. I also immediately enjoy the banter between Lucy and Wyatt… in fact, is it too early to start shipping them? They may try to pass off their relationship as brother/sister, but I’m not buying it.
With that said, I’m pretty sure Rufus is my favorite. He hits the nail on the head when he says there’s likely no time in American history that is safe for a Black man. But Rufus confronts this and makes some epic statements about racial equality. Plus, he’s smart and can fight. Rufus is definitely someone I want in my corner. (#HeroInAHoodie)
After their jaunt to 1937 New Jersey to make sure the Hindenburg explodes WITHOUT influential historical figures like John D. Rockefellar onboard, it becomes pretty clear that everyone has secrets. (P.S. Wasn’t Kate Drummond so awesome?! RIP.)
Why is Flynn, an NSA agent, so determined to eliminate the United States? Why does Flynn know Lucy and what in the world is Rittenhouse?
Do Connor Mason and Rufus have some secret plan to undermine the U.S. government?
And despite the trio’s best intentions, they end up changing history in ways that have serious personal implications (e.g. Kate’s mother is no longer in a coma… but in this world, her sister doesn’t exist).
How can this continue?!
In tonight’s episode “The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln” (written by Lana Cho, directed by Charles Beeson):
THE TEAM CAN SAVE THE LIFE OF ONE OF HISTORY’S GREATEST MEN—Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus chase terrorist Garcia Flynn to the night of Lincoln’s assassination, where they’re horrified to learn that Flynn’s linked up with history’s most notorious assassin, John Wilkes Booth (guest star Kelly Blatz). Putting aside a tragedy of her own, Lucy speculates that Flynn intends to send the fragile nation into chaos by making a bad thing worse, and a debate rages among the team: should they alter history if it means changing it for the better? (via NBC)
We’re going to 1865, y’all!
Check out this sneak peek (courtesy of an Entertainment Tonight exclusive) where Lucy meets meets Lincoln’s oldest son, Robert Todd Lincoln (guest star Neal Bledsoe), at the famous Ford’s Theatre where his father is killed:
Goodness, it’s so ominous… Robert is talking about how his father plans to accomplish even more goals, yet Lucy knows that Lincoln will meet his that night. WOW.
