VIDEO: Preview Tonight’s ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ Season 2, Episode 2 “She’s Dying”

October 1, 2015 By Funmbi Leave a Comment

After the way last week’s How to Get Away with Murder premiere ended, you know this season is going to be even crazier than the first! Get a sneak peek of tonight’s episode, airing at 10:00pm ET|PT on ABC.

Remember how last week Viola Davis warned us that How to Get Away with Murder‘s Season 2 finale would break the Internet? Welps, if you watched, you know she wasn’t kidding!

“It’s Time to Move On” began with us watching how Rebecca died (someone taped a plastic bag over her head and watched her suffocate). Once Annalise and Frank discovered the body, she asked him to get rid of Rebecca quietly and quickly. Afterwards, they agreed to keep tabs on the Keating 5 to try and figure out who committed the murder.

Ten days later, Annalise lectured her a lecture hall full of students about defending those who were accused of murdering loved ones. Each of the Keating 5 seemed to be doing on ok…except for Wes. He was angry and abrasive in class and openly disrespected Annalise. She still believed in Wes’ innocence, though Frank thought he was guilty. Annalise eventually confronted Wes when she invited him to dinner. She promised to protect him, no matter what. Ultimately, Wes expressed being hurt that Rebecca “ran away” and promised to get over her soon. He also apologized to Annalise for being mean in class.

With that said, Laurel believed Rebecca was dead and went to Frank with her suspicions. This, in turn, made Frank suspicious…maybe it was Laurel who killed Rebecca. According to him, with Laurel’s family ties (her father…?), it wouldn’t be surprising that she was a murderess. After having a conversation with Frank, Annalise was able to figure out who murdered Rebecca…and IT WAS BONNIE! Why did she do it? Bonnie believed Rebecca killed Lila and having her around was a risk to Annalise.

In terms of Nate’s trial, Annalise was able to convince Eve Rothlo, her old friend from Harvard Law, to take on his case. However, it was clear Annalise and Eve hadn’t talked in a long time, and there was still bad blood between them. When Eve met with Nate, he didn’t trust her, but did confide that Annalise framed him for Sam’s murder. At that point, Eve turned down Nate’s case.  Later when he called Annalise, Nate was very angry and promised vengeance.

When Annalise went to find Eve, we learned that their relationship in law school was a romantic one. In fact, Annalise left Eve to be with Sam! She confessed to framing Nate for Sam’s murder to protect the true culprit. Eve comforted Annalise, and one thing led to another…declarations were made, then sexy times! In the end, Eve agreed to be Nate’s lawyer again.

Despite dealing with Sam’s murder, Rebecca’s murder, and Nate’s trial, Annalise was determined to stay on top of her work. She sought out new clients, Caleb and Catherine Hapstall, siblings accused of murdering their parents. Their Aunt was the prosecution’s key witness, one that was hard to discredit. Annalise’s team was able to manipulate the Hapstalls’ current lawyer into messing up in court (submitting a doctored surveillance footage of the Aunt at a spa as evidence to contradict her testimony). When the prosecution attempted to authenticate the video and realized it was falsified, the Hapstalls fired their lawyer and went to Annalise.

To celebrate, Annalise took the Keating 5 (minus Asher) to a rave. They drank and danced all night…Annalise was particularly handsy with Wes (What in the world is their relationship?!)
Where was Asher during this? He was meeting with the prosecutor in Nate’s trial, who was blackmailing him for information on Annalise and Eve. (UHOH!) Elsewhere, the Hapstalls ‘Aunt was murdered.

The episode ended with us flashing two months into the future. We were at the Hapstalls’ mansion and heard a gunshot. We then saw Wes running frantically from the building, while Annalise was inside lying in a pool of her own blood…

In tonight’s episode “She’s Dying”, written by Erika Green Swafford, directed by Rob Hardy, and with Famke Janssen guest-starring as Eve:

SOMETIMES WE HURT THE ONE’S WE LOVE MOST— Annalise and her team are blindsided when investigators try to pin a new charge on the wealthy siblings she’s been hired to represent. Meanwhile, things for Annalise become even more difficult when she’s brutally cross-examined on the witness stand during Nate’s preliminary hearing. (via ABC)

Goodness gracious, Annalise is getting it on all sides. Of course we know that while Catherine Hapstall might be innocent of her parents’ murders, Caleb Hapstall is definitely up to no good! And I can’t wait to see Annalise take the stand in Nate’s case…in his defense, right?

Check out these two clips from “She’s Dying”. In the first, Annalise tells the Hapstall siblings that their Aunt has been murdered. After asking where they were earlier in the night, Annalise doesn’t believe they were together the whole night. (AND WE KNOW THEY WEREN’T!)
In the second clip, Annalise is being cross-examined and throws accusations that she helped in the murder of Sam Keating:

First, Catherine needs to watch out because Caleb might be coming for her next!
Second, Annalise is like a terrible back-seat driver…she went right after that prosecutor and maybe implicated herself in the process.

The new How to Get Away with Murder airs at 10:00pm ET|PT on ABC and if last week is any indication, which it is, you’ll want to be there from the beginning until the very, very end!
