VIDEO: First Look at 'A Little Chaos'--Coming June 2015

It’s no secret that I’m a *huge* history buff and fan of historical romance, which is certainly reflected in my book, TV, and film preferences. So when I come across something that has me intrigued, you know I have to share it with my fellow HistRom lovers…and A Little Chaos should definitely be on your radar.

A Little Chaos is Focus World’s upcoming romantic drama (in conjunction with Lionsgate and BBC Films), directed by Alan Rickman and starring Kate Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts, Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci. The story takes place in 17th Century France during the Sun King’s reign. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below:

Sabine (Kate Winslet), a strong-willed and talented landscape designer, is chosen to build one of the main gardens at King Louis XIV’s (Alan Rickman) new palace at Versailles. In her new position of power, she challenges gender and class barriers while also becoming professionally and romantically entangled with the court’s renowned landscape artist André Le Notre (Matthias Schoenaerts).

“A little risk… A little loss… A little love… A little order… A little chaos.”

This looks like it has all the things I love in my HistRom—scandalous drama, forbidden romance, and a bit of humor to keep things interesting. Kate Winslet brings out an elegance and fortitude to Sabine and I love the idea of Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci wearing giant wigs. I’m sold! What did you think?
