SATURDAY SHOUT-OUT: WASTED Needs Your Votes for the CineCoup 2015 Challenge—GO VOTE NOW!

April 4, 2015 By T.J. Leave a Comment

Let’s help a great group of people turn their hilarious half hour comedy show into a film. Wasted has entered the CineCoup 2015 challenge and they need your votes.

My new series Saturday Shout-out gives me the opportunity to showcase someone or something I’m flailing over. To start off the series I want to bring more attention to Wasted THE Show and the CineCoup 2015 challenge they are participating in. When We So Nerdy launched six months ago, one of the first on-line friends I made were the crew at Wasted. We immediately bonded on Twitter over hysterical quotes from Last Action Hero. And I’ve laughed continuously from their talent and charm ever since.

Now Wasted from RetroGrave Productions is taking on a new venture. They are attempting to make their half hour comedy show about “a group of diverse Canadians fighting zombies in a post-apocalyptic Canada” into a feature-length film. C’mon, four long-time slacker friends who get high and love to drink, attempting to survive the zombie apocalypse responsibly, would be an amazing film.

To help Wasted get there, they need our votes in the CineCoup 2015 challenge. This challenge is an on-line initiative which allows filmmakers the chance to showcase their projects to the public, for the chance to win up to $1 million Canadian dollars, to make a feature-length film. The first CineCoup challenged produced the fun grindhouse film, Wolf Cop. Now we can give Wasted their chance! Currently, they need our support to get to the Top 60 candidates and we only have 2 days left. So look over the below synopsis of their film pitch, watch the trailers, then follow the instructions and go VOTE to help Lance Fernandes (Producer, Editor), Steve Kasan (Talent, Marketing / Social), Satheesan Nagenthiram (Director, Writer), and their talented group of actors and crew make it to the top so we can see Wasted make a fun, high-octane action adventure. It is free, simple, and it will only take a couple of minutes to help a great group of people achieve their dream.

Synopsis

When you have no work, no responsibilities and no rules you have fun… especially during a zombie apocalypse! That’s what happens to four friends who embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

Despite Mark’s countless warnings that a zombie outbreak will happen, Sid, Steve and Anthony find themselves surrounded by the living dead. Now these four friends must use the knowledge they have learned from video games; internet; life lessons; and zombie films (starring their favourite action hero, Lovina) to survive in this wasted new world.

Now these 4 deadbeats come alive after killing a zombie or two… or a 100. (via Wasted)

Now follow the instructions below and help Wasted get to the Top 60!
And don’t forget to share their goodness on your social media accounts.
