Get ready for tonight’s new Jane The Virgin with video and photo sneak peeks! “Chapter Fifteen” airs at 9:00pm ET|PT on The CW.
Jane The Virgin is back tonight after a three-week break with a brand-new episode that’s guaranteed to give us some swoony surprises!
“Chapter Fourteen” began with flashbacks to Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael’s (Justin Baldoni) lives five years ago—she was clearly someone who made sensible, realistic plans, while his life was in no way together. Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Abuela Alba (Ivonne Coll) were proud Jane, while Emilio (Carlo Rota) was not hesitant to call Rafael a disappointment and threaten to cut him off.
Flash-forward to the present, with Jane and Rafael in baby shower planning mode. Just as they were about to start discussing their living situations, Michael (Brett Dier) arrived with news that Rose (Bridget Regan) was Sin Rostro and has been using the hotel to surgically change the faces of criminals and all her other criminal activities. Yet, Emilio was still missing. Jane wondered if Rafael knew more about these criminal dealings, especially since he was being so secretive. And when she saw him coming out of a hotel room, being the curious person she is, Jane knocked, only to see Roman Zazo! How did he survive falling and being impaled on an ice statue of a marlin? It turned out that it was actually Roman’s twin brother Aaron(Alano Miller)—Aaron had been kidnapped by a Mexican cartel, and Rafael had negotiated his release.
At the psychiatric hospital, Luisa (Yara Martinez) was trying to escape—she believed her father was Sin Rostro and she needed to protect Rose. But Rafael came to bring her some and shared the news that Rose was actually Sin Rostro. When Luisa arrived at the Marbella, she found a note from Rose that revealed where she’d buried Emilio under the pool. In an debriefing with the police, we found out how Luisa first met and fell in love with Rose…and then found out she was with Emilio. After the interview, Rose called Luisa and requested that she join her.
Rafael was clearly distraught. He was planning his father’s funeral and trying to keep things at the hotel together. Jane wanted to help Rafael, but had no idea how to support him. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) returned to the Marbella, now as a co-owner and wanter to take charge at the hotel—she wanted turn the Marbella’s reputation around and have Rafael become a silent partner. Petra was able to manipulate Luisa into turning over her voting rights, which truly put Rafael in a tough position. Luisa then took off to meet Rose. YIKES.
A despondent Rafael returned to his room to find Jane there. She lit candles, brought comfort food, and declared her love for him and comforted/reassured him And then my FAVE scene—Jane woke up the next morning, next to a beaming Rafael…who then asked her to move in with him. EEEEEP!
In other developments, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) was trying to decide if we would move to Mexico for a new job or accept a recent offer in Miami on his arch-nemesis Esteban’s show. It seemed that Rogelio was looking for some sort of indication that Xo wanted him to say, but she was being closed off. With Jane’s intervention, both Rogelio and Xo declared their feelings and he decided to stay in Miami…with their new commitment, they celebrated with sexy times.
In tonight’s episode, “Chapter Fifteen,” directed by Melanie Mayron, written by Emmylou Diaz and David S. Rosenthal:
EXPECTATIONS–When Jane and Rafael receive news about their baby’s health, they revisit moving in together which prompts a surprise from Rafael. Alba gives Jane and Xo relationship advice that they both take to heart, but which leads them to unexpected friction with Rafael and Rogelio. Meanwhile, Petra finds herself with an unexpected ally. Michael tells Jane that her favorite literary idol is staying at the Marbella and Jane is determined to get her own book into her hands. (via The CW)
Take a look at this clip from tonight’s show, which features a VERY EXCITED Jane telling Rafael about her favorite author, who is staying at the hotel:
Could Jane be any cuter?! And her happy dance…LOVE LOVE LOVE! And love that Rafael already knows Jane’s inclinations so well!
