Lionsgate/Summit and Interscope announce The Divergent Series: Insurgent Original Film Soundtrack will be released March 17, 2015. See the complete tracklist, cover art, and preview two songs.
Initiates, we’ve looking forward to Insurgent music news for awhile now, and today the details have finally be released! Earlier this afternoon, Lionsgate/Summit announced in a press release that The Divergent Series: Insurgent Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available (digitally) on Tuesday, March 17! Check out the full track listing and album cover below:
- “Holes in the Sky” – M83 with HAIM
- “Blood Hands”- Royal Blood
- “Never Let You Down” – Woodkid featuring Lykke Li
- “The Heart of You” – Anna Calvi
- “Sacrifice” – Zella Day
- “Carry Me Home” – SOHN
- “Warriors” – Imagine Dragons
- “Convergence” Score Suite from “Insurgent” – Composed and Conducted by Joseph Trapanese
M83 and Woodkid were also on the Divergent soundtrack (I Need You and Run Boy Run, respectively), and it’s great to see they’re back with contributions for Insurgent.
According to music supervisor Randall Poster:
“Director Robert Schwentke brought incredible nuance to the making of INSURGENT and pressed us to the frontiers of musical ingenuity. There is a varied and powerful collection of songs gathered on this soundtrack. Not a group of songs for the meek but new anthems for the courageous. Music to fuel your insurgency, for sure.”
I’m SO ready to hear these insurgency-fueled songs! Thanks to MTV, we can now listen to first song on the soundtrack, the M83 and HAIM contribution, “Holes in the Sky”:
“Holes in the sky, pierced by the fire. Somebody tell me this is real…somebody pull me from the dark…”
WOW, that sounds like Insurgent to me…the world is crumbling, Tris fighting, sometimes through a simulation and sometimes not…gorgeous sound and gorgeous lyrics!
You can also listen to “Warriors” by Imagine Dragons, which I think also embodies the struggle and conflict we can expect to see in Insurgent.
