Now that Sam’s body has been found, can Annalise and the Keating 5 still get away with this murder? Preview tonight’s How to Get Away with Murder season 1, episode 12 “She’s a Murderer,” airing at 10:00pm ET|PT on ABC.
Even though the title of last week’s How to Get Away with Murder was “Best Christmas Ever,” judging by the episode, Annalise (Viola Davis) and the Keating 5 had pretty horrible holiday breaks.
We began with Annalise holed up in the Hamrick Hotel in Philadelphia, drinking, bingeing, and looking very despondent and depressed. She returned to Middleton University in time for the first day of the second semester, and in her lecture, promised that the second half of her course (“How to Get Away with Murder”) would be much harder. UNDERSTATEMENT.
In the course of the episode (via flashbacks) we learned that Wes (Alfred Enoch) was having severe nightmares; Michaela’s (Aja Naomi King) fiancé broke up with her because she seemed to be having a psychotic break; Laurel (Karla Souza) was kicked out of her parents’ house for acting up, and Connor’s (Jack Falahee) car was stolen.
In the present, Annalise and the students took on a case where a woman (Jackie, Jackie Geary) wanted to confess to assisting her husband in holding two girls (one who was pregnant) hostage. However, it turned out that Jackie was much more active accomplice, by drugging the girls so they wouldn’t remember being raped by her husband and even keeping the one of the girl’s first baby for herself.
At the same time, Annalise was trying to convince Sam’s sister, Hannah (guest star Marcia Gay Harden), that he really was guilty of killing Lila and did run away. But Hannah was certain that there was foul play and even followed Annalise and the Keating 5 to see if they knew something more. Annalise eventually told Hannah the full truth about Sam’s affair and showed her the evidence of his guilt. But none of this might matter since, at the end, breaking news on the TV verified that Sam’s body was found!
