VIDEO: Preview ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Winter Premiere “Where Do We Go From Here”

January 29, 2015 By Funmbi 3 Comments

Preview Grey’s Anatomy season 11, episode 9 “Where Do We Go From Here” with video and photo sneak peeks. The mid-season premiere airs at 8:00pm ET|PT tonight on ABC.

Grey’s Anatomy returns tonight from its mid-season hiatus, and there’s so much to be scared/nervous/excited about! If you’ll recall, the last time we were at Grey-Sloane Memorial, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) confronted one another about Washington D.C. During the season, we could see they both felt a sense of resentment—Der for having to give up the opportunity to serve on the President’s brain mapping initiative and stay in Seattle for Meredith’s career; and Mer for being forced to burden the guilt and expectation from Derek’s “sacrifice.” By the end of the confrontation, Der walked away from Mer, having decided to take the D.C. offer.

Besides that, Mer had developed a closer friendship with her new half-sister Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary, at Derek and Richard’s encouragement), though Maggie and Richard’s (James Pickens Jr.) relationship was still strained.

Elsewhere, Callie (Sara Ramirez) had decided she wanted to end her marriage with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw); Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) were a expecting a baby, but after a check-up, Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) learned that the baby wouldn’t live a few days past birth (she had yet to break the news to JApril); and Dr. Herman (Geena Davis) was planning to spend her last few months before succumbing to a brain tumor sharing her fetal surgery knowledge with Arizona. But after a consult with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), there might be a way to remove the tumor.

Several relationships seem to be nearing a heart-breaking end, which makes me incredibly ambivalent about what’s still to come!

In tonight’s mid-season premiere “Where Do We Go From Here”:

Derek prepares to move to Washington, D.C., and Meredith deals with this by keeping busy at work. Meanwhile, Jackson and April receive some troubling news; and Arizona and Amelia devise a plan regarding the best way to approach Dr. Herman. (via TV Guide)

Check out this sneak peek from the upcoming show. In the clip, Derek returns home and starts packing for D.C.; however, after glancing at the post-it from their wedding, he starts to remember the promises her and Meredith made to one another:

*sigh* This is so distressing! I know that I’m definitely in shock—I don’t want Derek to leave. Mer, Der, Zola, and Baby Derek need to be together, but honestly, I have no idea what the proper resolution is. Meredith might be the sun, but surely she can’t be better off on her own What do you think?

Take a look at images from tonight’s episode and make sure to tune into ABC at 8:00pm ET|PT from Grey’s Anatomy‘s return!
