Executive Producer Ron Moore presents a one minute preview of Outlander‘s mid-season premiere episode, featuring Jamie (Sam Heughan) POV. Outlander returns on Saturday, April 4 at 9:00pm ET|PT on STARZ.
As promised, the preview of Outlander‘s ninth episode (“The Reckoning”) aired last night (January 24) before the premiere of Black Sails‘ second season! Executive Producer Ron Moore introduced the video and shared that, for the first time, season 1B’s premiere will be told from from Jamie POV (as opposed to Claire’s). The sneak peek definitely delivered on that. Check out the exclusive clip below:
Oh Jamie! Interesting enough, earlier this morning, Outlander‘s official twitter challenged fans to identify the similarities between the opening scenes of episodes 1 and 9. And the intros are quite similar! Both feature beautiful scenes of the Scottish highlands. And in both, Claire and Jamie talk about the things you remember…what makes some memories more vibrant than others. “It’s strange the things you remember…”
Of course, Jamie goes on to reflect on his life so far and the importance and inevitability of choice. For me, this is particularly salient, especially when you think about the decisions Jamie makes in the second half of Outlander and through the remainder of the series, all to protect Claire and his family. And Sam Heughan captures this so poignantly!
As I speculated earlier this week, STARZ confirmed that the mid-season premiere will take us back in time a bit to find out Jamie’s side of the story when Claire disappears in the final episode before the break. How exciting (and also terrifying)!
