Preview Jane The Virgin‘s mid-season premiere “Chapter Ten” with video sneak peeks. The new episode airs at 9:00pm ET|PT on Mon., January 19 on The CW.
This winter break has been pretty good to Jane The Virgin and those of us who are fans of the show. Not only did Gina Rodriguez (Jane Villanueva) win a well-deserved Golden Globe for “best performance by an actress in a television series–comedy or musical), but also The CW announced earlier this week that they’ve renewed Jane The Virgin for a second season! This show really is the perfect combination of humor, romance, mystery, and crazy drama. I’ve loved watching the first nine episodes, and now that season 1 is back, things will be getting even more intense.
If you’ll recall from the Fall finale episode, Michael (Brett Dier) suspected that Rafael (Justin Baldoni) was Sin Rostro and asked his brother Billy (Ryan Devlin) to do a little snooping. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) was determined to make things difficult for Rafael and Jane by showing up at her sonogram appointment and asserting her parental rights.
Jane, Rafael, and Michael formed a brief alliance to try and get Petra to back off. As a result, we discovered that Petra had assumed another person’s identity. Knowing that things were rapidly falling apart, “Petra” turned to her mother for help and promised to handle things. We learned that Magda (Priscilla Barnes) had a history of taking one for the team–her disfigurement being a result of an attack Milos meant for Petra.
By the end of the episode, Jane and Rafael promised to work through their differences so they could be together; Michael and Nadine (Azie Tesfai) discovered a secret passageway in one of the hotel rooms; Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) had her faith restored in her dreams (as a result of meeting her idol Paulina Rubio, organized by Rogelio–Jaime Camil); and after Alba (Ivonne Coll) overheard Ivan (Christopher Corbin) begging for help, Magda (WHO CAN WALK) pushed her down the stairs.
WOWSA!
In the upcoming episode, “Chapter Ten”:
A hurricane hits town, forcing Jane to stay at the Marbella. Meanwhile, Rogelio comforts Xo when he learns about Alba’s condition; Rafael gets his old job back and must make a tough call regarding staff layoffs; and Michael tries to assist Alba quietly. (via TV Guide)
Check out the video below where Justin Baldoni takes us inside “Chapter Ten” to tell us more about what we can expect. Apparently, there are some pretty difficult decisions ahead for Rafael:
And in this clip from “Chapter Ten”, we see that Jane and Michael end up stuck together in an elevator during the hurricane:
“…two characters at odds are stuck in an elevator together…” classic trope, indeed!
I can’t believe that Michael is actually trying to convince Jane that Rafael is some kind of mobster. I already thought that Michael was being ridiculous, but he’s really taking things too far now. And as far as I’m concerned, Lachlan (Michael Rady) is Sin Rostro. What do you think?
Remember to tune into The CW at 9:00pm ET|PT Monday, January 19 for the return of Jane The Virgin!
