Earlier today, Ellie Goulding released her song for the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, “Love Me Like You Do”. The MPAA also officially assigned the film an “R” rating.
We’ve entered 2015 and the countdown to the theatrical release of Fifty Shades of Grey continues! At this point, we’re about five weeks away, so you know promo is about to really kick into gear.
Yesterday, the movie tie-in edition of the novel was released worldwide. Then earlier today, Ellie Goulding announced that she would be joining the Fifty Shades soundtrack, and she released the song “Love Me Like You Do” (which you can listen to below):
Ellie isn’t a stranger to film soundtracks–she played a pretty significant role on the Divergent movie soundtrack, contributing three songs (Beating Heart, Dead in the Water, My Blood) as well as being the “voice” of Tris in the film score. And “Love Me Like You Do” definitely sounds like Ana determined to convince Christian that he is capable of loving her, despite his reservations.

Speaking of the film, this morning the MPAA announced that Fifty Shades of Grey would receive an official rating of “R”. MTV reports that the MPAA justified this rating, citing the film’s “strong sexual content,” “graphic nudity,” and “unusual behavior”:
