It’s time for the 4-week musical Galavant, premiering tonight on ABC at 8 PM (ET|PT).
As we posted before, ABC wanted to bring us something to hold us over while Once Upon a Time was on hiatus. And lucky for us we are getting the 4-week fairy tale themed, musical comedy, Galavant which premieres tonight on ABC at 8 PM ET/PT. In this 4-week “comedy extravaganza” we will be treated to back-to-back 30 minute episodes.
For Galavant Dan Fogelman (creator, writer, and executive producer), Alan Menken (executive producer, composer, and songwriter), and Glenn Slater (executive producer and lyricist) team up to bring us…
…a comedy of epic proportions. Once upon a time, the dashing hero, Galavant (Joshua Sasse), lost the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), to the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson). Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his “happily ever after.” But it won’t be without a few twists and turns along the way. (via ABC)
Galavant also stars Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Karen David as Isabella and Luke Youngblood as Sid, with special guest appearances from John Stamos, Ricky Gervais, ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, and Rory Wilton.
Check out Dan Fogelman, Alan Menken, join the cast members Joshua Sasse, Karen David, and Luke Youngblood as they give us a taste of what is to come on Galavant with live musical performances.
In the premiere episode (“Pilot”), followed by episode 2, “Joust Friends”
Galavant enters a jousting tournament against a boastful rival, Sir Jean Hamm (guest star John Stamos), to test his return to heroic form (and win some much-needed traveling money and a really nice rooster). But it quickly becomes clear that Galavant is a long shot to win. Meanwhile, King Richard asks Gareth to help him become a bit more macho so that Madalena won’t despise him quite so much. (via ABC)
