Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively star in upcoming thriller, A Simple Favor, coming from Lionsgate this fall.
Last week, Lionsgate held their CinemaCon 2018 presentation in Las Vegas, and one of the films they featured is A Simple Favor. The film is directed by Paul Feig (Ghostbusters) and stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Now, when I first saw that Paul Feig and Anna Kendrick were onboard, I thought, for sure, that this was a comedy. But judging from the synopsis and the newly released trailer, A Simple Favor is no laughing matter.
The film centers around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. Stephanie is joined in the search by Emily’s husband Sean (Henry Golding) in this stylish thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge…
In the trailer, it becomes clear that Emily (if that’s her real name!) has at least a few secret identities. The mystery is even more heightened because this week Blake Lively basically disappeared herself from Instagram, by deleting all her posts and even unfollowing her husband Ryan Reynolds! This “What happened to Emily?” situation is getting serious!
A Simple Favor hits theaters on September 14, 2018, and I, for one, am really looking forward to figuring out this mystery!
