We’ve been waiting for this news for a while, but production on season two of American Gods has begun! Get all the details here!

We have American Gods news, and we couldn’t be more excited! Production has begun on season two!

Last time we saw the Gods, Ostara had come around to Mr. Wednesday’s way of thinking and got rid of Spring altogether. Odin tells the New Gods:

“Tell the believes and non-believers: tell them we’ve taken the spring. They can have it back when they pray for it.”

We also found out some very interesting things concerning Mr. Wednesday. He’s Odin, but more importantly, he (with Mad Sweeney’s help), orchestrated the death of Laura Moon and pushed Shadow Moon right into his path. That’s going to be messy when it all comes out.

Will Shadow even want to help Wednesday anymore? Will Wednesday promise to bring Laura back in exchange for his help? Will Laura decompose before it all goes down? Will my Mad Sweeney/Laura ship sail?

I. HAVE. QUESTIONS.

Anyway, as everyone converges on the House on the Rock, we could see Bilquis, under the orders of Mr. World, try and infiltrate Odin’s group of Old Gods that want the world to remember them.

Needless to say there will be tons of drama this season, and this cast will be on point again! The still above shows some of our favorite Old Gods and their human friends in the Carousel Room along with American Gods author, Neil Gaiman. The new Gods are absent in this photo, but I’m sure they’re coming up with their own plan now that Ostara has taken away Spring.

There have been some shake ups on the show as well. Showrunners, Bryan Fuller and Michael Green announced they wouldn’t be returning for a sophomore season. Shortly after, Gillian Anderson said she wouldn’t be returning as Media.

American Gods found a new showrunner in Jesse Alexander, and Gaiman will take a more prominent producing role this upcoming season. Season two is slated for eight episodes and will premiere in 2019!

Check out this behind the scenes clip below!

What are you most looking forward to in the second season? Let us know in the comments!
