This animated film is incredible gorgeous and captures the true essence of family. Miguel, who adores music, is raised in a family who is trained to despise it. As it turns out, Miguel’s great-great grandfather was a musican who ran off and abandoned his family.
On Día de los Muertos, Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead, searching for his great-great grandfather, so his photo can be put on the family’s ofrenda during the celebration. During his adventure, he meets other members of his family and finds out long lost truths that can save the memory of his great-great grandfather and bring peace to his beloved great-grandmother, Coco.
Accompanied by a lovely soundtrack, this film will have you in tears by the end.
