Take a look at The CW’s Spring 2018 mid-season premieres, including the debuts for new series Black Lightning and Life Sentence!
I can’t lie–it’s been quite nice to have a Winter Break; however, I’m really looking forward to our favorite shows returning from hiatus!
The CW announced their complete mid-season premiere schedule, including dates for season premieres of iZombie, The 100, the final season premiere for The Originals. We also know when new debuts of DC superhero series Black Lightning and comedy Life Sentence will occur.
Supergirl kicks off The CW Spring 2018 line-up, starting Monday, January 15 (Come to us, Legion of Superheroes!!!). According to TVLine, Supergirl will be on hiatus from mid-February to mid-April (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow takes over the slot starting February 12). Supergirl will return on April 16, and air new episodes straight through to the Season 3 finale on June 18.
iZombie will return for its fourth season Monday, February 26, and The Originals will be back for its fifth and final season on Friday, April 20, taking the 9:00pm ET|PT slot after Jane the Virgin‘s season finale on Friday, April 13.
The new series Black Lightning debuts next Tuesday, January 16, following The Flash, and airs until Tuesday, April 17. The following week, gritty sci-fi drama The 100 returns for Season 5 on Tuesday, April 24 (9:00pm ET|PT).
Finally, the new series Life Sentence, starring Lucy Hale, makes its debut Wednesday, March 7 (9:00pm ET|PT), after an all new episode of Riverdale.
I’m really looking forward to Black Lightning and the new trailers and poster make me even more excited. Just last week, The CW revealed a new poster featuring Anissa Pierce, Jefferson Pierce’s oldest daughter (played by Nafessa Williams), who develops superpowers of her own. If her dad is Black Lightning, then Anissa will be Thunder, and she looks the most fierce!
I’m also excited about Life Sentence (which gives me Hart of Dixie feels), as well as the beginning of the end for The Originals. Call me naive, but I’m still here hoping for a Klaroline and Haylijah HEA!
