Because ladies can rock the hell out of a heist film, too… watch the first trailer for Ocean’s 8!
This morning Warner Bros. released the first trailer for Ocean’s 8, and I may/may not (MAY!) be watching it on repeat. I enjoyed Clooney’s Ocean’s 11 trilogy, but I can’t lie–Ocean’s 8 is shaping up to be a favorite!
In the trailer, we begin with Debbie Ocean (Danny Ocean’s sister) as she’s being paroled from prison. Yet, she has no plans to turn over a new leaf. As soon as Debbie is out, she starts assembling a team to pull off a massive heist. Their target is this year’s Met Gala, specifically to steal a necklace worth $150 million… LAWD!

This cast gives me so much life! Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, and Awkwafina prove that ladies can rock the hell out of a heist film, too. Ocean’s 8 looks hilarious and so much fun!
Entertainment Weekly has an interview with Sandra Bullock, where she talks about her character (who apparently has been in prison for five years) and the Ocean family, filming with an all-female cast, and more. My favorite part is when Sandra shuts down haters:
We’re not a reboot. We’re just a this is what’s happening in 2017. It’s not even a passing of the torch. It’s a parallel story of another family member that was raised in the same family Danny Ocean was and what happens when Debbie steps out of jail with all of these amazing, powerful women.
Agreed! And I really can’t wait to watch this movie… which happens to come out on my birthday (June 8, 2018) *EEEP*
