Psych returns this Winter for a Christmas movie, and the cast reunited at this year’s Comic-Con to give fans a sneak peek! Details + 20 exclusive photos from the panel.

When USA Network announced that all our Psych faves would be back for a Christmas special, you better believe we did our best “c’mon son” and flailed! At yesterday’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, cast and creators reunited in Ballroom 20 in order to give fans a preview of Psych: The Movie.
The panel opened up with this hilarious video of a Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) getting in shape for the reunion…which basically means they were being ridiculous as they failed at exercising.
Dust off the cobwebs! Remember the catch phrases!

James and Dule were joined on stage by Kirsten Nelson (Karen Vick), Corbin Bernsen (Henry, Shawn’s dad), and Maggie Lawson (Juliet), creator Steve Franks, and executive producers Chris Henze and Kelly Kulchak.
Jimmi Simpson (who is reprising his role as Mary Lightly) moderated and we learned that Psych: The Movie picks up three years later in San Francisco. While Gus is thriving professionally, Shawn still takes on cases on the side.
In fact, we got to watch the first eight minutes of Psych: The Movie, which featured Shawn dressed as a homeless person trying to bust up an illegal fencing ring. A crazy chase ensues, which ends up with Shawn hiding out in Gus’s place of business and eating his lunch while Gus gets reprimanded for the chaos. Shawn is still the hottest mess and Gus is the best best friend ever!
During fan questions, we also learned a few more teases:
- Cast and creators confirm that there WILL be singing in Psych The Movie. Dule treated us with his favorite song from Psych: The Musical, “Jamaican Inspector Man”. 🙂
- Apparently the pineapples in Psych episodes was all born from Steve Franks! And YES there is a pineapple in Psych: The Movie.
- Corbin tells us to look forward to an awesome scene with James and Jimmi together in Psych: The Movie.
- According to Steve Franks, “I don’t want to make one Psych movie, I want to make six Psych movies!” So here’s hoping for more!
We really can’t wait for this special! Everyone on the panel was so excited to get back together for the movie, and according to James, what’s most wonderful was the chance to give something back to the fans. Psych: The Movie is for US!
Of course we also took some time out to send a special “Suck it Tim!” to Tim Omundson (Carlton Lassiter), who is recovering from a stroke her suffered earlier this year.
Finally, we ended with a group sing-along of the Psych intro theme and it was awesome!
