Sassenachs, STARZ is planning to end our Droughtlander in a big way!
Last week, we officially learned that Outlander is going to be at San Diego Comic-Con next week. In addition to a panel with cast/creators (an hour and a half!), there will also be an autograph signing for some lucky fans. Go HERE for all the details.
I think most of us figure that with a 90 minute panel, there’s a lot of time to share some goodies, maybe even a screening of portions of the Season 3 premiere. STARZ promises “an up close and personal experience with the adored series”. *EXCITE* There’s so much potential for awesomeness here. I, for one, still have high hopes and will do everything in my power to be in Ballroom 20 at that time.
Ahead of next week’s Outlander SDCC return, today STARZ shared some pretty big news—the Season 3 premiere date!
The new season will debut on Sunday, September 10 at 8pm ET|PT. Season 3 will include 13 episodes based upon Voyager (the third of Diana Gabaldon’s eight-book Outlander series).
STARZ also released the official Season 3 key art (shot by photographer Jason Bell), which depicts Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) standing on opposite sides of the standing stone at Craigh na Dun. The two seem close, within arm’s length. Yet we know Claire and Jamie are separated by time and history, she in the 1960’s, he in the 1700’s.
Check out this live-action version of the poster, too. In it, we watch Claire and then Jamie approach the standing stone from opposite sides and we hear her say: “I had been on an impossible journey. You can come back to your life, but it’s never the same. Maybe it’s enough to have gone once. How many people can say they had that?”

Ugh… I know that Jamie and Claire’s separation at the end of Dragonfly in Amber is heartbreaking, but, for me Voyager is even more devastating. To watch Jamie and Claire attempt to move on and live these half-lives. That means watching Jamie and Claire have other “romantic” relationships. *CRIES* But we’ll get through it together!
