Preview The Originals season 2, episode 8 “The Brothers That Care Forgot” airing tonight at 8:00pmET on The CW.
Last week’s episode of The Originals leaves me feeling conflicted, and as usual, it’s mostly because of Klaus (Joseph Morgan). I really enjoy how much he loves his Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and this is so evident in ‘Chasing the Devil’s Tail.’ Klaus is desperate to break the hold Lenore/Esther (Sonja Sohn) has on his brother and takes off in search of a plant that will help Elijah wake up. While on his search, he runs into his biological father, Ansel (Lloyd Owen), who seems to want to prove himself to Klaus by helping find the plant.
I like that Klaus has the chance to question Ansel to find out what kept him away all those years ago. And it does seem like Ansel is able to make a little bit of headway…but then he reveals that he knows Hope is alive. And Klaus, being the extremist that he is, can’t take the chance of any threat to his daughter, and kills him. That scene is so shocking…and the way Klaus leaves Ansel for Lenore/Esther to find, but that’s Klaus–extreme love for some and brutal violence for others. With that said, I do wonder whether Ansel is *actually* gone?
While Klaus is away, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), Cami (Leah Pipes), and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) are on a mission of their own to trap the other two Mikaelson brothers. But while the are successful in kidnapping Vincent/Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) and Kaleb/Kol (Daniel Sharman), Esther now has a hold of Cami!
In tonight’s episode, ‘The Brothers That Care Forgot’:
Rebekah is pursued by Esther, but Klaus devises a plan to get Vincent and Kaleb to turn against their mother. Meanwhile, Davina turns to dark magic; and Hayley and Jackson stumble upon an ancient ritual that would get their werewolf packs out from under Esther’s control, but would require a tremendous sacrifice. In this week’s edition of ‘Inside The Originals,’ producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci take us behind-the-scenes of tonight’s show. Klaus is adamant about convincing Vincent and Kaleb to join him against Esther. And this is even more imperative because Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Hope are in danger:
YES–Claire Holt is back! I’m really looking forward to seeing what Rebekah and Hope have been up to. Is it possible that they’ll come back to New Orleans? And now that we also know that Esther’s older sister is entitled to the first born of every generation, when will the other Originals find out this tidbit?
In these previews, we find out some answers to these questions about Rebekah and Hope, as Vincent reveals that Esther is on her way to their sister.
WOW, tonight is going to be a GREAT one! Make sure to tune into The CW at 8:00pmET for the brand-new episode of The Originals.
