Wells and Jane travel back to the 1980s and learn more about Vanessa… get a sneak peek of tonight’s Time After Time.
I don’t know about you, but the more I watch Time After Time, the more questions I have about how this story is unfolding.
This isn’t a bad thing at all… it’s just that nothing is as it seems, and I’m not at all sure who we (and Wells) can trust!
Last week (“Out of Time“) we saw John/Jack the Ripper’s attempts to continue his murder spree came to halt when he meets Brooke. All we know is that she was supposed to be his next victim, but eventually turned the tables and drugged John. Interestingly enough, she seemed to know his true identity.
At the same time, Wells, Jane, and Vanessa were pulling out all the stops to fix the time machine. This brought them face-to-face (well, more like gun-to-face) with the hat-wearing stalker from the end of the previous episode. We learned that this guy’s name was Chad and that Chad had a mother who seemed to predict Wells and Jack the Ripper’s trip to the future. Unfortunately, before we could learn more, Doug (Vanessa’s bodyguard) killed Chad during an intense exchange, in order to save Wells and Jane.
Similarly, Vanessa decided to bring her boyfriend Griffin in on the secret by telling him her familial relationship to George (who was really H.G. Wells) and allowing him to witness the time machine in action once it was fixed. Griffin was just an unassuming politician, right? Um, no. After seeing the time machine, Griffin made a call to a mystery person, informing them that he now had “access to the time machine”. Whatttttt?!
But the best moment was watching Wells and Jane share their first kiss… and yes, there were sparks! Was this the beginning of a new romance? And what about this connection John/Jack the Ripper seemed to have with Jane too? DRAMA!

*giggles* I love how adorably awkward Wells and Jane can be! But can we talk about how tonight we might learn the real connection between Wells and Vanessa?!
