‘Suicide Squad’ Delivers at SDCC Before It Hits Theaters

July 31, 2016 By Katie Leave a Comment

Suicide Squad showed up at SDCC with an extended trailer and its cast for a final sit down before it hits theaters on August 5th! Watch it all below!

Worst. Heroes. Ever.

I’ve been looking forward to this movie since the teaser debuted at SDCC last year! The premise alone was enough to make me excited. The panel consisted of all the major players: Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, Karen Fukuhara & writer/director David Ayer.

To break things down, a group of the baddest villains on the planet has been recruited to fight an unparalleled evil. It’s their job to kill the bad guy and restore order. They’re also the fall guys if it all goes south. Since I’m unfamiliar with the comics (man, I sure say that a lot. I need to branch out.), I don’t know where Jared Leto’s ‘Joker’ comes in, but I can tell you that he looks completely insane.

I’m sure Viola Davis has much to add there, and I’m crossing my fingers for the tell-all one day.

Anyway, so, the bad guys get weapons, a mission, and the fate of the world rests on their shoulders. It looks like they get pretty creative when it comes time to saving it, too.

You can watch the trailer below, then let us know what you think about the Suicide Squad! Do you think they’ll come through in the end? P.S. I need this song now.

From director David Ayer comes Suicide Squad, starring Oscar nominee Will Smith, Oscar winner Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman and Oscar nominee Viola Davis.

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super-Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Written and directed by Ayer based on the characters from DC, the film also stars Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut. The film opens worldwide in 3D, and in 2D, and in select IMAX 3D theaters August 5, 2016. www.suicidesquad.com

If you’d like to watch the panel, you can see it all here! Oh,and don’t forget your tickets!! There’s less than a week until the film comes out, and it’s a safe bet this one will be a winner for DC. You can buy advanced tickets HERE!
