During San Diego Comic-Con The Originals‘ cast/creators gave us a first look at Season 4, including the 5-year time jump. Watch now!

I think the most significant lesson I’ve learned from The Originals‘ Season 3 finale is that when the Mikaelsons say “always and forever”, they really do mean it.
Despite the conflicts and distrust between the siblings, we witness Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Freya, and Kol sacrifice everything to save the family, including their relationship with Marcel.
Klaus himself makes a massive sacrifice in order to save his brothers and sisters who are suffering from their curses—Elijah and Kol bitten by Marcel, the super-hybrid, Rebekah hexed by Tristan/Aurora to experience debilitating blood lust, and Freya poisoned by one of Klaus’ descendants.
With the remainder of her strength, Freya binds herself, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah to Klaus’ life force. So when Marcel daggers Klaus with Papa Tunde’s sword, Freya, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah’s bodies are in a deep sleep, which prevents them from dying of their respective curses.
Meanwhile, their consciences reside in a Chambre de Chasse, a dream world where they are safe. As long as Klaus lives, his siblings will remain in this state, thereby giving Hayley the time to search for the cures to their illnesses.
So at the end of “The Bloody Crown”, Marcel encases Klaus in a brick tomb; Hayley rides out of town with Hope and Freya, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah’s bodies.
HAVE MERCY.
While at Comic-Con last week, The Originals‘ cast and creators shared quite a bit about the upcoming Season 4. We know that when things pick up in the midseason, we will experience a five year jump… this means baby Hope will be a 7-year old little lady.
During the panel, they revealed a teaser that gives us a recap of Season 3, as well as a little sneak peek of Hope and Hayley post-time jump in Season 4. Watch it below:

WOW! Well, I’m glad to hear that Hope still wants a relationship with her Daddy. We probably owe that to Hayley’s Supermom skills.
With that said, I’m curious to see how Marcel has been overseeing New Orleans in the Mikaelsons’ absence. Obviously their house has really been let go.
Meanwhile, Klaus and Marcel recite “A Poison Tree” by William Blake, suggesting that their conflict is far from over.
At Comic-Con, I had a chance to chat with Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Pheobe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Riley Voelkel, Yusef Gatewood, and Michael Narducci and they all had LOTS to share about what’s in store for their characters. I’ll be bringing you lots more details from the interviews in the coming week.
