AMC’s The Walking Dead will return for a seventh season in October, but this week it’s taking over SDCC. Check out the newly released character posters here!
Last week, AMC released this poster ahead of San Diego Comic Con…

It’s a shot from the Season Six finale that has left fans wondering for months who was on the receiving end of Negan’s bat, Lucille. With the set on lockdown and spoiler sites only speculating, AMC has done a much better job of keeping its show’s secrets for the upcoming season than before.
Without a doubt, Season Seven is going to bring some serious problems for the group as they face the loss of one of their own and deal with Negan and his gang. We’ve still got some issues with Hilltop, and The Kingdom is coming into play. Maggie and Daryl aren’t doing well at all either, and a lot of character dynamics are changing.
The Season Seven trailer will debut this Friday during the The Walking Dead panel, moderated by Chris Hardwick. It’s also expected that they’ll announce a premiere date. Cast members that will be in attendance are everyone in the death line-up, so one (or more) of these people is actually gone already. Noticeably absent are Lennie James and Melissa McBride who went with the guys from The Kingdom in the Season Six finale.
Representing the show are:
Team Family: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, and Josh McDermitt.
Team Your Worst Nightmare Who is Also Scary Attractive: Jeffery Dean Morgan
Team We Hold The Future In Our Hands: Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and David Alpert
In my opinion, the person who gets the bat needs to be someone of emotional importance or a symbol of strength to Rick. Even though there are several side plots, at its heart, The Walking Dead is about Rick Grimes’ journey. The death has to have impact which is why my money is still on Glenn. This was the man who saved his life at the very beginning of this journey. To feel so helpless as to not be able to save the person who saved you, someone you’ve grown to respect and love like family? That will affect Rick.
A good substitute would be Abraham. He’s strong and his comic!death went to Denise this past season, so maybe it was to make way for an even more shocking exit for the Sergeant. Would they really kill off two love interests for Sasha in the span of a few months, though?
SO. MANY. QUESTIONS.
Take a look at the character posters below, and prepare yourselves for the trailer and then a few more months of waiting.
