FIRST LOOK: 'Deepwater Horizon' Film, Coming in September

Lionsgate shares trailer and posters for their upcoming drama Deepwater Horizon, starring Mark Wahlberg, Gina Rodriguez, and Dylan O’Brien.

Earlier today Lionsgate revealed the latest trailer for their upcoming dramatic thriller Deepwater Horizon. The film is inspired by the real-life story of the offshore oil drilling rig (the Deepwater Horizon) that exploded in 2010 and resulted in the worst oil spill in American history. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien, Kate Hudson, and John Malkovich.

Check out the movie synopsis and trailers below. We meet Mike Williams, his family, and co-workers while simultaneously observing the real Deepwater Horizon at work and the origins of the disaster.

On April 20th, 2010, one of the world’s largest man-made disasters occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), this story honors the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever.
