Initiates, how AMAZEBALLS was Allegiant?! I can honestly say that this third film has been my favorite in the series, which was a bit of a shock for me since Insurgent is actually my fave of the books. But I was so impressed with the portrayal of various relationships in the Allegiant movie: FourTris, Tris/Caleb, Four/Evelyn, Tris/David, and more. I also enjoyed the mythology of the world beyond “The Wall” and making links to Tris’ mom (Natalie). Unsurprisingly, Theo’s depiction of Four was one of the *best* aspects of Allegiant… that, and the amazing, but also jarring ending with FourTris… and David (ZOMG!). I’ll save the rest of my flails for my review (coming soon!), but I’m super curious to see where Ascendant takes us!
Soon, we’ll be able to add The Divergent Series: Allegiant to our home collections! Lionsgate/Summit just announced that Allegiant will be available on Digital HD on Tuesday, June 21. Then on Tuesday, July 12, the film will be out in Blu-ray Combo Pack (+ DVD and Digital HD), DVD (+ Digital), 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (+ Blu-ray and Digital HD), and On Demand. And, as if that isn’t enough, if you need to catch up on the series, Divergent and Insurgent will also be available in a 4K Ultra Combo pack on July 12.
As usual, we’ll be treated to awesome special features, including an in-depth behind-the-scenes look with six all-new featurettes plus audio commentary with producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher.
