BET Salutes “Captain America: Civil War” for Having 3 Black Superheroes!

May 7, 2016 By T.J. Leave a Comment

BET has a hilarious chat with fans about Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War being the first blockbuster film to have three Black superheroes in its line up.

Unless you’ve been living in a doomsday bunker for the last 15 years you are fully aware that Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War has hit a theater near you, and fans are raving about the 3rd film in the Captain America cinematic franchise. However, what may have escaped you while you’ve been fan-flailing over the epicness that many have already experienced with multiple viewings since its release, is Civil War is the first blockbuster film to have THREE Black superheroes within its line up: Sam Wilson alias Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Lieutenant James Rhodes alias War Machine (Don Cheadle), and T’Challa alias Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).

BET “the pre-eminent entertainment brand serving African Americans and consumers of Black culture globally” went to chat with fans at Regal Cinemas theaters in Times Square, NYC to get their take on the Civil War’s Black superheroes with a pop culture spin.

Hitting moviegoers with questions like, “What would you name an all Black superhero squad?”; “Who’s the real life Captain America?”; “Who’s richer Iron Man or Black Panther?”; to the pop culture question of the month due to Beyonce’s LEMONADE “Who’s got the good hair?”, the fellas answering the questions entertained us with their answers. However, I won’t lie, I was disappointed no one thought to name the Black superhero squad, “Squad Goals” or that only one person knew that Black Panther is richer than Iron Man…like WAY richer!

In the comments let us know how you would’ve answered BET’s #CaptainAmericaSoBlack salute to Civil War questions, and make sure to check out the official channels of BET, Captain America: Civil War, and We So Nerdy’s #TeamPanther Twitter giveaway for a Black Panther Funko Pop!.
