Travel Beyond the Wall in First ‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant’ Trailer & Posters

November 13, 2015 By Funmbi Leave a Comment

Watch the first official trailer from Allegiant where Tris, Four, and their friends escape Chicago, but find even more danger in the world beyond the wall.

Today Lionsgate treated Initiates to a new look at The Divergent Series: Allegiant and the world outside Chicago!

This afternoon (after an earlier teaser on the TODAY Show) BuzzFeed debuted the Allegiant‘s new official trailer (“The Truth Lies Beyond”), which you can now watch below.

As anticipated, Evelyn and the Factionless seize control of the city and are actively preventing anyone from escaping beyond the wall…after all, it’s for their protection. However, Tris, Four, Caleb, Christina, and Peter are able to clandestinely make their way outside of Chicago. Once they learn the truth behind the Bureau of Genetic Welfare, they realize new dangers to their friends and family members who are still in the city:

So… initial thoughts: Shailene Woodley and Theo James look GREAT as Tris and Four. I’m especially loving the new hair! The FOURTRIS ship sails 🙂
Also, newcomers Jeff Daniels (David), Bill Skarsgaard (Matthew), and Nadia Hilker (Nita) are pretty awesome in their roles.

How about the world beyond the wall? There’s this odd combination of deserted wasteland coupled with amazing technological advancement—those planes/helicopters, the weaponry, the Bureau of Genetic Welfare building, itself. This combo is probably expected in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian setting. The truth of the matter is that things don’t seem to be any better outside Chicago than within the city.

This raises several interesting questions: what exactly happened to devastate the world this way and why, in the last 200 years, have things not improved? What are the origins of the Chicago experiment, and why is Tris the only success? Are Tris and Four really going to lead Chicago in a war against the Bureau? Finally, will we learn more about Tris’ mom (Natalie Prior) and her relationship to David/the Bureau (as in the books)?

What did you think of the trailer?

Take a look at new Tris and Four character posters as well as a teaser poster of their group scaling the wall:

Break the boundaries of your world…

Remember, The Divergent Series: Allegiant hits theaters March 18, 2016 and the final installment in the series, Ascendant, will arrive March 2017.

The third installment of the blockbuster Divergent series franchise, ALLEGIANT takes Tris and Four into a new world, far more dangerous than ever before.

After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
