Happy October Tributes! We’re getting closer and closer to November 20, so you know we’ll be getting lots of Mockingjay goodies. This week Lionsgate and Samsung announced a new partnership to give fans access to exclusive content and experiences leading up to the worldwide launch of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2!
Starting this weekend (October 2 – 4, 2015), fans who visit the Samsung Experience Shops inside more than 1,000 Best Buy locations can view a never-before-seen final Mockingjay Part 2 trailer on the Galaxy Tab S2, get a sneak peek at an immersive The Hunger Games virtual reality experience with Samsung Gear VR, AND check out the exclusive new Mockingjay app.
Plus, if you purchase an Galaxy Tab S2, you’ll get a FREE digital download of the first three THG films! To locate a participating Samsung Experience Shop, visit www.Samsung.com/mockingjay.
Then, from October 9 – 11, 2015, The Hunger Games Virtual Reality Experience powered by Samsung will premiere during a huge event in New York City. Fans will be taken on a 6-minute, 360-degree immersive journey through some of the defining moments of Katniss’ journey in The Hunger Games films using the Samsung Gear VR headset.
But even more exciting, to celebrate The Hunger Games and its global fandom, Lionsgate and Samsung will present The Hunger Games Tribute Awards!
The Tribute Awards will honor the best of the series and the internet as voted on by the fans, by recognizing inspired fan art in a variety of categories such as Best Film Parody Video and Best Fan Costume. From now until October 25, you can vote for your favorite Film Moments and Fan Art from the films.
You can also win one of three trips to Los Angeles where you can attend the Global Fan Appreciation Event as an honored guest. GO HERE for more details about how to enter this contest and submit your own fan art.
The Tribute Awards will culminate with a global fan appreciation event at the Samsung Studio Los Angeles on October 31st, where the cast of Mockingjay, Part 2 will reminisce on the series as it comes to an end and celebrate The Hunger Games‘ most loyal fans!
