Tommy demands that Ghost find out everything about Angela’s investigation. Meanwhile, Kanan, newly released from prison, surprises his [former] friends. Watch a sneak peek of tonight’s Power “No Friends on the Street”, airing at 9:00pm ET|PT on STARZ.
Last week’s season 2 premiere of Power (“Consequences“) kicked off right where the season 1 finale ended—Kanan’s (50 Cent) lady mercenary, Pink Sneakers (Leslie Lopez), attempted to kill Ghost (Omari Hardwick), but ended up shooting Holly (Lucy Walters) instead. As she fled, Ghost gave chase, but wasn’t able to catch Pink Sneakers before she fled the scene.
Now he had to deal with the aftermath: TRUTH was closed down and things became even more complicated when he found out that Simon Stern (Victor Garber) now owned the building. Stern would renew the lease only if Ghost agreed to sell him the club. In terms of the drug business, Ghost wanted to double down on his drug business to save his nightclub and dream of a legitimate future. He decided to increase Tasha’s (Naturi Naughton) role and in exchange, she demanded Ghost end things with Angela (Lela Loren).
Meanwhile, after Tommy (Joseph Sikora) learned that Angela was a U.S. attorney, he broke into her apartment, presumably to kill her. Was she pretending to be with Ghost to take down the drug business? But his suspicions turned after finding out about Ghost’s plan to take Angela to Miami. Tommy hid out at his mother’s place, but eventually Ghost tracked him down. At that point, Ghost learned the full truth about Angela’s job (what being a lawyer for the government actually meant), and he was dazed. With that said, he did go to see Angela at the end of the episode and asked her how her day at work went.
Truth be told, work wasn’t going so well for Angela. After Normar’s death, a new boss was assigned to the Lobos task force and Angela was sidelined. But she was determined to continue her investigation into “Ghost’s” real identity, and reached out to Isabel (a young “friend” of Normar) as a potential avenue for information.
Elsewhere, Kanan was finally out of prison. He asked his son, Shawn (Sinqua Walls), to pick him up and promise not to tell anyone about the release. Kanan’s first order of business was to track down Pink Sneakers and also try to figure out Shawn’s true loyalties. Eventually, he would carry out his revenge against Ghost and needed to get his ducks in a row.
In tonight’s episode “No Friends on the Street”, written by Gary Lennon and directed by Stefan Schwartz:
Tommy agrees to help Ghost expand the drug business under one condition—Ghost must use Angela to discover what she knows about them from her investigation, without Tasha finding out. Kanan’s release from jail is a surprise for Ghost, but not the only surprise as Angela draws closer to reaching her goal. (via STARZ)
Watch two sneak peeks from the upcoming show. In the first (“What do you want from me?”), Ghost meets with Simon Stern to come to some sort of agreement about the night club and the building lease. And in the second clip (“Am I seeing things?”), Kanan springs his surprise release on Ghost and Tasha:
Take a look at these 10+ images from “No Friends on the Street”—everyone, including Ghost, seems to be happy about Kanan’s return. Of course we know that looks can be deceiving, and right now both Ghost and Kanan are disguising their true intentions.
