It’s finally time for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer! Let’s take a look at this next Marvel hero!
Like most of you, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been on our radar since SDCC 2019. Over the last several months, we’ve been diving back into the MCU with WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Solider. We all know Loki is coming out in June, and Black Widow in July. These have all been about characters we’ve met before, though.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings takes a group we’ve heard about since Iron Man and gives them dimension. More notably, this is the first time that an MCU film will be headlined by a predominately Asian cast. For fans of Kim’s Convenience, you’ll know Simu Liu immediately! I can’t wait to see him in this movie, and if you haven’t watched Kim’s Convenience, go now! It’s on Netflix.
So, what is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings about?
Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng.{via MARVEL}
A lot of speculation has Tony Leung’s Wenwu actually being the real Mandarin. We met fake Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) in Iron Man 3. Shang-Chi’s presence in the MCU is secure since he interacts frequently with characters we already know in the comics.
