COVER REVEAL: ‘Hometown Troublemaker’ by Brighton Walsh

March 12, 2019 By Funmbi Leave a Comment

Hometown Troublemaker, the second novel in Brighton Walsh’s juicy, small town romance Southern Heat series, is coming soon! Check out the new cover and an exclusive excerpt.

I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: Brighton Walsh is one of my Queens of contemporary romance! She has an incredible catalogue of work, all of which I’ve enjoyed immensely. I highly recommend Brighton’s New Adult Reluctant Hearts series, her taboo/forbidden romance Captive series, and her super sexy, erotic romance Temperance Falls series (as one-half of London Hale).

Y’all, if Brighton writes it, I will read it, and enjoy every moment!

Last year, Brighton released the first book in a new small town romance Southern Heat series, Second Chance Charmer. The story of Willow Haven and Finn Thomas is incredibly compelling, chock-full of juicy, second-chance romance and family drama. (P.S. Make sure to take a look at my 5-star review HERE!)

I have to say that Brighton’s world-building in Second Chance Charmer is sensational, as we’re introduced to awesome secondary characters. And even with our limited interaction with Rory (Willow’s sister) and Nash (a friend of the younger Haven siblings), I could sense that their story would be red-hot with that romantic angst that we love.

Friends, Brighton recently announced that Rory’s and Nash’s book is coming!!! In Hometown Troublemaker…

Aurora “Rory” Haven’s life is in shambles. Her ex-husband’s living with the woman he cheated with, her oldest daughter blames her for the divorce, and she’s broke. To make ends meet, she partners with the too-young, way too hot local contractor she has absolutely no business fantasizing about.

Nash King is working overtime so he can take over the family business. He doesn’t need the distraction of his best friend’s sister, but the hot-as-hell, pearl-clutching divorcée barrels her way into his everyday life. He’s managed to ignore his attraction to her for a decade. What’s another couple months?

The summer heat and forced proximity has tempers flaring…and their chemistry sizzling. But Havenbrook’s gossip mill is churning full-force, and the last thing Rory needs is everyone finding out she’s crushing on a man eight years her junior. Except crushing doesn’t have anything on what’s really going on…

What would happen if the townspeople found out paint wasn’t the only thing being stripped?

Just look at that cover! *SWOONY SIGH* And several of my favorite themes are featured: best friend’s sister; older woman/younger man; blue collar hero; and banter galore.

Because Brighton loves us (and she knows our affinity to glorious sexy times), she has shared an exclusive excerpt from Hometown Troublemaker… and it’s smoking hot and DELISH!

“I…take a long time. To, um, get there.” Rory darted her eyes over to Nash and away again. “It can be a lot of work. I can be a lot of work.”

A lot of work? Only an asshole would feed her that bullshit line. An asshole who no doubt couldn’t find a clit with coordinates and a GPS guiding the way. And if Nash were a betting man, he’d place his life savings on Rory’s son-of-a-bitch ex having planted that seed in her head.

What the hell was the right thing to do here? His brain screamed at him to let this go. To walk the fuck away, because nothing good would come from following the will of his dick, not when his future plans and goals were on the line. Not when King Construction was on the line.

But another part of him—a part that was so much bigger than the sexual hunger he felt for her—was desperate to wipe away that look on her face. Show her the lies her ex had fed her for years simply weren’t true.

She might take a long time, but he didn’t care if she took all goddamn night. He’d gladly spend hours playing with her breasts or lapping at her pussy. Doing whatever she needed for as long as she needed it. A real man did whatever necessary to make sure his woman felt just as much pleasure as he did—more than. And he enjoyed himself every second he was giving it to her.

So much for listening to his brain, because it seemed his mind was made up. And, short of Rory telling him to get the fuck out, there wasn’t anything that was going to stop him.

“Is that a challenge?”

Color burst on her cheeks, the flush going down her neck and no doubt spreading over her chest. “What? No, of course not. It’s just a fact.”

“You know a fact has to be proven with sufficient evidence. Have a lot of that, do you?”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “I’m gonna ignore you not so subtly tryin’ to ask me how many men I’ve slept with. The answer is none of your business.”

“Will you answer my other question, then?”
“Depends on if you show your ass again.”

He smiled, unable to keep it from spreading across his mouth. “How many people do you cuss in front of, princess?”

“I don’t cu—” She clamped her mouth shut, pressing her lips together as realization seemed to dawn on her.
“Pretty sure I’m the only one. Know what that tells me? You’re comfortable around me.”
“That’s ridiculous.”
“Know what it means when you’re comfortable?”
“I won’t have a problem kickin’ your rude butt straight outta my house?”
“Oh, I have no doubt about that. But I was thinkin’ something a little more…explosive.” He leaned closer until their noses nearly touched. “When you’re comfortable, coming’s as easy as pie.”

“Why do you insist on bein’ crude?” she asked, but her eyes were locked on his lips.
“Because it’s fun to rile you up. So, what do you say, princess? Wanna test my theory?”
Rory snapped her gaze up to his, then breathed out an incredulous laugh. “You can’t be serious.”

Oh, he was serious, all right. The state of his cock was a five-alarm fire. But the truth was, he’d be happy if his dick never even touched the air in Rory’s place, so long as she let him love all over her pussy with his fingers and his mouth. So long as she sat back and relaxed long enough to come from his efforts.

He reached over, plucked her hand from her lap and placed it in his, directly over his aching cock. “Does this feel like I’m jokin’?”

Rory’s lips parted, her eyes glazing over as she gave his dick a tentative squeeze. She dropped her gaze, connecting it with the hard ridge behind his fly. Then she licked her lips and squeezed his cock again.

Nash groaned, pressing his forehead to her temple. So close but not nearly close enough. “Yes or no, princess? You gonna let me test my theory or what?”

You better test that theory, Nash! Several, repeated tests, you know… to make sure the theory is empirically sound 😉

You don’t want to miss this! Hometown Troublemaker is out on March 14, 2019. Add it to your Goodreads TBR list and then go to Apple Books for their exclusive pre-order.
