PREVIEW: ‘Outlander’ Season 4 Finale “Man of Worth”

January 25, 2019 By Funmbi Leave a Comment

Jamie, Claire, and Ian finally reach Shadow Lake, but are they in time to save Roger? Meanwhile, Bree prepares to have the baby at River Run. Get a sneak peek of this week’s Outlander finale episode, “Man of Worth.”

Last week’s Outlander episode, “Providence,” followed three storylines: we watched Bree (with the help of Lord John) confront Stephen Bonnet; Fergus and Marsali attempted to free Murtagh; and we also saw Roger’s entanglement with the Mohawk at Shadow Lake, as well as his own struggles with his faith in love. Interestingly, we got to see the first two storylines converge, for awhile, in Wilmington… but by the end, the Frasers were separated again.

Ultimately, it was incredible to see Bree be so courageous and full of grace as she extended forgiveness to Bonnet, all while telling him about his horrible nature. Thank goodness for Lord John Grey and his friendship! That friendship came in handy again as he was able to help Fergus and Murtagh make their escape from jail. BTW, the Fersali feels were so strong in the episode as they channeled their best Jamie and Claire. But truly, it was Richard Rankin who stole the show. In every single scene we felt Roger’s struggle to “look out for #1” vs. embracing mercy and love. Johiehon’s and Father Alexandre’s storylines were profoundly tragic.

Sassenachs, the finale episode of the season is here and there are so many questions! Will Jamie, Claire, and Ian finally reach Roger? Will Bree and the baby be OK? Will Murtagh be able to stay out of the crosshairs?!

In “Man of Worth” (written by Toni Graphia, directed by Stephen Woolfenden): Jamie, Claire and Young Ian’s attempt to rescue Roger from his Mohawk captors goes awry when a ghost from Claire’s past lays waste to their plan. Meanwhile, Brianna worries Claire, Jamie and Roger might not return and contemplates life as a single parent without them.

Images from the episode give us some clues… Jamie, Claire, and Ian do reach Shadow Lake, but there looks to be a huge confrontation with the Mohawk. Murtagh makes it to River Run to see Bree and he has a smile on his face, so that’s a good sign.
