I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok. The film had the glorious action we’ve come to expect from Marvel films, as we saw Thor (Chris Hemsworth) imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer, racing against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok–the destruction of his home and the end of Asgardian civilization at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett).

At the same time, there were several emotional story arcs, as our faves struggled to reclaim their confidence after various (and major) defeats. Thor began the film losing his father, mjolnor, his hair, and a huge battle against his former ally and fellow Avenger, the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Similarly, Bruce Banner spent the last several years trapped as Hulk, and both were unsure whether they’d have a place back on Earth and with the Avengers. We met fierce warrior, the Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), in the midst of a self-exile after losing all of her warrior sisters the last time Hela made an attempt on Asgard.

Yet, there were so many moments of humor, with trickster Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Korg (voiced by Taika Waititi), and the eccentric Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).

I left the theater feeling very hopeful about the team Thor had assembled, especially because Earth is going to need ALL the help once Thanos arrives… but that’s for another post!

Soon, we’ll be able to bring Thor: Ragnarok home to enjoy! The film will be available in Digital HD and Movies Anywhere on February 20, then a couple weeks later (March 6) on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and On-Demand. We’re getting a ton of bonus material, including exclusive, never-before-seen deleted scenes, hilarious outtakes, and exclusive shorts (like part three of the mockumentary “Team Thor,” retitled “Team Darryl”). There will also be numerous making-of featurettes, which explore Taika Waititi’s unique vision, the story’s unstoppable women, the film’s comic-book origins, and much more. Check out the details below, including the boxart:
