PREVIEW: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season Eight, Episode 6 “The King, the Widow, and Rick”

The Walking Dead is bringing the ominous vibes this week with “The King, the Widow, and Rick”. With the events of this season, how have our leaders changed? Here’s our preview for episode six!

So far this season, we’ve seen some serious errors in judgement from our group leaders, particularly Maggie and Rick. These two have lost a lot when it comes to Negan and they’ve already tried to reason with “bad guys” in the past unsuccessfully. Which leads me to question this theme of “mercy” from their perspective.

You can’t change Negan or his men. They’re violent and they’re merciless. Why in the world would you think you could tie them up and give them a choice?

Even with the Governor, the people he rallied to his cause wouldn’t listen to Rick and change their minds about living together. These people have been so brainwashed by “I am Negan.” that they’re never going to follow Rick or anyone else. Their capture and waffling back and forth about their fate is pointless.

As is keeping a coward like Gregory alive and back inside the walls of Hilltop.

Rick has even left the ASZ essentially unguarded throughout this entire day and now he’s going to see Jadis again. This makes no sense because she’s already proven she can’t be trusted, and she goes with person who holds the most power. Even if that’s Rick right now, it could be another person in a few weeks.

It’s a poor choice.

With “The King, the Widow, and Rick”, we’re getting a look at the inside of Hilltop and their Savior captives (that’ll end well), it appears we’ll be seeing the Kingdom again and Ezekiel, and inside the ASZ (or outside based on the clips and stills) we have Carl abandoning his post and Michonne and Rosita getting revenge their own way?

Events leading up to the midseason finale will ultimately leave the ASZ unguarded and a prime target for Negan. With the downhill slide until the break, expect cliffy endings and lots of explosions. The end result being that Rick will realize that his mercy shouldn’t have prevailed over his wrath.

Take a peek at the clips and stills below and let us know what you think will happen in “The King, the Widow, and Rick”!
