While Claire tries to make her time on the Porpoise productive, Jamie does everything he can to get her back. Watch a sneak peek of this week’s Outlander, “Heaven & Earth”!

“The Doldrums” might refer to stagnation and inactivity (and the weeks at sea definitely embodied some of this), but last week’s Outlander moved the story and characters forward in other ways, too. There was a focus on Jamie and Claire having the time to reconnect physically and emotionally. We saw them reaffirm their love and the ways in which their lives are bound together (even with shared grief over Bree’s absence): “No matter what troubles happen around us, Sassenach.. This, what is between us, never changes.” TRUFAX FOREVER.
Beyond this, the highlights for me were seeing Yi Tien Cho share his story and be elevated as a hero of sorts; then, the birth of the Fersali ship, plus Marsali’s pretty impressive shade towards Claire.

By the end of the episode, Jamie and Claire were forced apart again, and it was unclear whet
For more of our thoughts on “The Doldrums”, definitely read our full recap and also watch our video review for all our flaily commentary!
Also, definitely watch (or re-watch) Executive Producers Ronald D. Moore, Toni Graphia, and Matthew B. Roberts taking us inside filming of last week’s episode. They provide insight into transitioning to South Africa for filming, some of the tricks of filming an episode “at sea”, plus the importance of superstitions in the storytelling:
In Sunday’s episode “Heaven & Earth” (written by Luke Schelhaas, directed by David Moore):
Claire races to discover the source of an epidemic aboard a disease-stricken ship before hundreds of sailors die. And as Jamie locks horns with Captain Raines, Fergus finds himself torn between loyalty and love. (via STARZ)
It looks like Claire is still stuck on the Porpoise, and as expected, Jamie is not dealing well with the British kidnapping his wife… again.
Like last week, STARZ released an preview of the last four episodes of the season (OMG, there are only FOUR episodes left in the season!). In addition to behind-the-scenes interviews with Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Maril Davis, and Matthew B. Roberts about working in South Africa, we get a few glimpses of Claire’s and Jamie’s reunion in the Caribbean:
Esquire.com has an exlusive clip from “Heaven & Earth” Jamie Jamie finds out that Captain Raines was well aware that Captain Leonard was going to keep Claire on the Porpoise. Jamie is incensed that Raines would agree to this and keep it a secret. He gets physical with Raines, but as you can imagine, Jamie is outnumbered. Watch HERE.
You can also watch a second clip HERE via Cosmopolitan.com exclusive, where Claire is working on the Porpoise to contain the illness, but it’s frustrating. She’s trying to disinfect as much as possible, but finds that the sailors would rather drink the alcohol. *SNORT*
Check out five images from “Heaven & Earth,” (plus the episode trailer); then make sure to live tweet with me at 8p/7c this Sunday, November 19 on STARZ!
