20th Century Fox has released the first clip from their upcoming survival adventure, The Mountain Between Us. The film is directed by Academy Award nominee Hany Abu-Assad and stars Academy Award winner Kate Winslet and our boo-thang, Golden Globe winner Idris Elba.
Kate and Idris play Ashley Knox (an attractive, successful writer) and Dr. Ben Payne, respectively, strangers on a charter flight from Salt Lake City to Denver. Unfortunately, during the trip, the pilot has a heart attack, causing the plane to crash into the High Uintas Wilderness, one of the largest, harshest, and most remote stretches of land in the U.S. They’re stranded after the crash and must forge a connection to survive the extreme elements of a remote snow covered mountain. They embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness discovering strength they never knew possible.
In the first clip from the film, Ashley and Ben are (understandably) in a bad place after the plane crash, and consider what might happen in the event of their death:
