This year NETFLIX will feature The Defenders, Stranger Things, and two original films at SDCC. See the full schedule of events.
NETFLIX is heading to San Diego next month in a really big way! According to Entertainment Weekly and SDCC Unofficial Blog, NETFLIX is planning both onsite and offsite events.
First, fans can expect three Hall H panels filled with our favorite stars and never-seen footage: a sneak peek of two NETFLIX original films, Bright and Death Note; The Defenders panel, featuring four badass Marvel heroes; and then a preview of Stranger Things. In addition, there will be a 360 degree interactive booth (#3729) on the main floor, featuring exclusive content, the latest information regarding cast appearances and giveaways.
In terms of offsite events, the Hilton Gaslamp will host the Netflix Experience: from Thursday, July 20 – Saturday, July 22 (11:00am – 8:00pm, daily) and Sunday, July 23 (11:00am – 3:00pm), fans can get a sneak peeks of upcoming originals, exclusive giveaways, and more. There will also be a virtual experiences for Bright, Marvel’s The Defenders, and Stranger Things.
Finally, NETFLIX is also promising a *surprise* screening of an upcoming original film on Thursday, July 20 at The Horton Grand Theater!

THURSDAY, JULY 20
3:15pm NETFLIX FILMS: BRIGHT AND DEATH NOTE (Hall H): Experience a sneak peek at David Ayer’s new film Bright. Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves and fairies have co-existed since the beginning of time, this action-packed and completely original film will make for a must-see panel with stars Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez and David Ayer — featuring exclusive footage and Q&A. Attendees will also be treated to a first-look at the edgy thriller, Death Note, based on the Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. Cast and filmmakers will debut footage and discuss the project’s transition from graphic novel to film.
10:00pm A NETFLIX SURPRISE SCREENING (Horton Grand Theater): Netflix presents a surprise screening of an upcoming original film. Fans are invited to the Convention Center lobby before the screening for interactive activities that include costume and prop displays, interactive activities and autograph signings. 5:15pm NETFLIX PRESENTS: MARVEL’S THE DEFENDERS (Hall H): Daredevil. Jessica Jones. Luke Cage. Iron Fist. Four iconic super heroes. One stage. Nuff Said! SATURDAY, JULY 22
3:00pm NETFLIX’S: STRANGER THINGS 2 (Hall H): Netflix invites fans to join the cast and creators of the pop culture phenomenon Stranger Things, to view never-before-seen footage from the second season that picks up in the chaotic aftermath of Will Beyer’s return to a world that will never be the same.
