While Henry travels the country to unite his people, Lizzie finds her loyalties torn. Get a sneak peek of Sunday’s The White Princess!

As we get ready for the second episode, I have a several thoughts.
I really adore that this story is told from the female perspective. I mean, history is filled with stories of “giant” men, but it isn’t hard for me to believe that those men made their achievements because of the phenomenal women in their lives.
It’s incredible to see Henry VII flounder so much, especially when his mother Lady Margaret, fiancee Princess Lizzie, and future mother-in-law Elizabeth Woodville are calling the shots in big ways. It’s so clear that Henry’s throne is anything but secure. (Incidentally, I’m glad he doesn’t have young Teddy Plantagenet, Earl of Warwick, killed!)
Is anyone else shocked by how widely it’s known that Lizzie had an affair with King Richard (HER UNCLE)?! Everyone knows this, and Henry even uses it as justification for essentially raping her.
My favorite was when Lizzie said: “But that filly loved her stolen freedom more than you can know. In fact, she spent herself so fully on that gallop that its memory would sustain her until she died.”
Lizzie is completely unashamed about who she is and who she loves. “Humble and penitent” be damned!
With that said, I feel very confident that Lizzie will soon have Henry’s heart in the palm of her hands, especially now that she’s pregnant. Is it naive for me to hope for romance between them?
Lizzie is so knowledgeable and clever… definitely what she’s learned from her mother. At the same time, once Lizzie has her child, will she be so willing to topple the Tudors?
Last, I just have to say that I despise Cecily and how she’s so eager to turn on her sister! She’s someone we have to keep a close eye on.
