Catch up on the latest Outlander developments, including an interview with Diana Gabaldon about the end of the series and new Outlander-themed wines, just in time for the holidays!

OHITHERE Sassenachs! I tell you, one of my favorite posts to put together is the “This Week in Outlander” compilation of the latest news in our favorite franchise.
As you can tell from the title, this week brings us some pretty interesting developments in the book AND TV series! I won’t keep you waiting, so see below for more.
Last weekend Entertainment Weekly held their EW Popfest, a two-day festival showcasing the biggest names and most exciting acts in entertainment. Diana Gabaldon was on-hand for an interview with EW’s Lynette Rice and a Q&A session with fans. You can read more of the interview HERE, where DG talks about her writing process (like why John Grey falls in love with Jamie, how she comes up with her book titles, and more).
But I think the most interesting news was the announcement that DG believes book 10 will probably be the end of the Outlander series. In the clip below, a fan asks a question about the iconic scene in Outlander where Frank comes upon a man (Jamie) watching Claire in her window. What explains this moment? According to DG (via EW):
“It’ll be the very last thing in the last book, which I think is probably book 10.” WOWSA!
The Outlander Season 2 soundtrack and blu-ray/dvd have finally been released! Tell the truth, how many times have you binge-watched already?
This week, we got a few more extras!
First, Outlander‘s official twitter account released a new deleted scene from the Season Two Collector’s Edition Blu-ray. Ron Moore introduces the clip, which takes place BEFORE of one of the creepiest scenes in Season 2. Jamie is dreaming that he’s with Claire and as they start to make love, the scene shifts to Black Jack Randall:

They also shared a clip from “The Skye Boat Song: Evolution of a Classic” BTS featurette where Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe talk about how much the enjoy the rendition of this renowned song.

I’m definitely one of those folks who starts spinning as soon as the Skye Boat Song comes on!
E! Online shared a deleted scene from “Dragonfly in Amber”, where Roger convinces Brianna and Claire to stick around for an extra day by offering to visit the sights.
Hmmm, is Claire talking about places that were important to her and Frank OR her and Jamie??? I think we know the answer…
Finally, Screener TV shared part of the “Outlander: Creating New Worlds” featurette, which gives us some insight into the show’s set design. This clip talks specifically about Claire and Jamie’s Parisian apartment and Versailles, with interviews with Ron, Catriona, Jon Gary Steele, Gina Cromwell, John Casey, and Lionel Lingelser.
This week Harper’s Bazaar gave fans a first look at the special Outlander-themed wines from Lot 18! There are four wines available based on different characters.
NV Claire Randall Vin Blanc: A transcendent wine that, like Claire Randall, can’t help but stand out from the rest.

2015 Claire Fraser Willamette Valley Pinot Noir: A wine that will transport you to another time and place, and leave you longing for more.

2014 Jamie Fraser Paso Robles Red Blend: Ripe and juicy, this wine is worthy of toasting a true Scottish warrior.

2015 Frank Randall Vin de Pays d’Oc Cabernet Sauvignon: Like Frank Randall, this red is refined yet reliable.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, only 2,500 bottles of each wine have been created, and they started shipping on November 7. So order yours HERE today!
