This week brought fans more Outlander news, including several sneak peeks of the Season 2 special features and a new sweepstakes from STARZ!
Sassenachs, let’s catch up on some of the major Outlander-related news this week!
We’ve got some juicy sneak peeks for you, so let’s get to it.
First things first, the Outlander Season 2 soundtrack is now available for purchase across major retailers! For more information, including the tracklist and to order your copy, go HERE.
Speaking of Season 2, it’ll be available on digital HD, blu-ray, and DVD in just a few days (digital HD = Monday, October 31, DVD/blu-ray = November 1). We’ve got all the details for you HERE, but this week, several sneak peeks of the bonus features were released. You can watch them below!
In this first video, courtesy of an Entertainment Tonight exclusive, we get a first look at the hilarious Season 2 blooper-reel. There are several issues of horses and other animals carrying on their business, irrespective of filming. And above all, there are so many adorable laughs!
This second video is a BTS interview (via Entertainment Weekly) with Diana Gabaldon and Producers Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia explaining how they filmed Dougal’s death. In the book, it’s exclusively Jamie’s doing, yet for the show, producers toyed with the idea of having Claire do the deed… of course we know that, in the end, they sort of killed Dougal together.
Access Hollywood also has an exclusive look at the blu-ray BTS featurette, “Book To Screen: Discovering The Differences”. Executive Producers Ron Moore and Maril Davis discuss their reasoning behind their decision to alter Jamie and Claire’s heartbreaking separation at Craigh na Dun (“Dragonfly in Amber“) by removing their time at the crofter’s cottage (the final sexy times and then carving their initials into each other’s palms). Toni Graphia also tells us about an alternate ending to the Season 2 finale when Claire, Bree, and Roger find out that Jamie survived Culloden. Watch HERE.
WOWSA, I can’t wait to be able to watch all the bonus content in its entirety! I have a feeling that a lot of questions we have will be addressed… also, I just love hearing about the process of cast, creators, and crew putting this beloved show together.
