This morning Universal Pictures/Focus Features released the first trailer for the upcoming sequel Fifty Shades Darker. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are back and things are about to get even more sexy!
If you’ll recall, the last time we were with Anastasia Steel and Christian Grey, she broke off their relationship after a particularly distressing RROP session.
In the new trailer, titled “Want You Back”, we see Ana and Christian rekindle their romance, but with new expectationsâthat is to say, they throw the contracts and rules out the window.
But this in no way means that kinky, sultry sexy times are off the table. These two have lots of fun… we get glimpses of their extraordinary dates, including attending a masked charity ball hosted by Christian’s parents at their estate.
Yet, as we see, new threats arise, including Ana’s new boss at the publishing firm where she works (Jack Hyde, played by Eric Johnson), Christian’s former submissive/lover (Leila, played by Bella Heathcote), and the woman who introduced Christian to BDSM, Mrs. Johnson herself, Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger).

Definitely darker… and I just love the element of mystery! Can we talk about Miguel singing a rendition of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”?! New, but hearkens back to the first film in the best possible way *SHIVERS*
With that said, there’s danger lurking around several corners.
It was great to get a first look at Jack, Leila, and Elena… those of us familiar with the books know that these three characters cause a lot of trouble for Ana and Christian.
And did you notice that flash of an ill-fated helicopter ride? YIKES!
