NBC releases new character images from Blindspot‘s upcoming second season. Also learn more about new cast-members’ roles, including Archie Panjabi and Luke Mitchell.

I am *beyond* excited for Blindspot to return for Season 2!
As I’ve mentioned several times already, this show really was the number one breakout for me last season.
And judging from our interviews with the cast and creators at Comic-Con last month, Season 2 is even more intense. But we at least know we’ll be getting answers to the question we all want to know: WHO IS JANE DOE?
Martin Gero and Jaimie Alexander already confirmed to us that we’ll find out Jane’s true identity in the Season 2 premiere.
When the second season begins, we’ll have a bit of a time jump. In the Season 2 sneak peek, we see that when Weller arrests Jane at the end of Season 1 (*cries*) he turns her over to the NSA who has been holding her for questioning.
According to TVLine, Archie Panjabi joins the cast as “as the head of a secret division of the NSA that has been tracking the Jane Doe case from afar.”
TVLine also confirms that Luke Mitchell (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Michelle Hurd (Dardevil, Law & Order: SVU) will be part of Season 2:
Mitchell’s Roman and Hurd’s character (whose name has not yet been revealed) are members of the shadowy organization that sent Jane to the FBI — sans memory and with those cryptic markings all over her body.(via TVLine)
Interesting!
This week NBC released character images for Season 2, giving us a look at our Blindspot faves Jane, Weller, Zapata, Reade, Patterson, and my bae Dr. Borden. We also get to see Luke Mitchell and Michelle Hurd in their roles:

Blindspot returns in less than a month on Wednesday, September 14 on NBC.
