‘Teen Wolf’ at SDCC—Series End + Allison’s Return!

August 3, 2016 By Rebekah Leave a Comment

THE END IS NIGH IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD AS TEEN WOLF REACHES ITS CONCLUSION, WITH SEASON 6!

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the creators of Teen Wolf announced that the forthcoming season would be its last, but; in Jeff Davis’ favouritism of separating a season into parts, we have until 2017 to say goodbye to Stiles, make Stydia happen, resurrect Allison, and learn Stiles’ true name.

A first look at season 6A, reveals that it is clearer than ever, that nothing stays dead, and Jeff Davis is running short on time to right the misdoings inflicted upon his fans; and bring back Allison.
It is with a stubborn-headedness behind this hope, that I may be left disappointed with the series concluding moments.

The SDCC trailer for Teen Wolf; whose premiere has been delayed until the fall, greets us with an intense, ‘out there’, progression, of the dark and mysterious threats; of mythology and biblical study. Although showrunner Jeff Davis, cites this season’s big bad as

“a Nazi Werewolf … and we get to see how he was put into this big glass capsule.”

Opening with what appears to be the four horsemen of the apocalypse; named as Ghost Riders in Teen wolf’s take on the premise, Scott and co. have the ultimate battle on their hands as they try to protect Beacon Hills and themselves, from being consumed by the enemy; and erased.

Treading the line of secrecy, in an effort to keep their shit together – to be frank – is it possible that the world will soon be enlightened to the supernatural?

All theories point towards yes, as presumed armed forces arrive in town to take on the Ghost Riders…unless the Nazi werewolf brought other Nazi werewolves with him.

Also, worth mentioning is the return of Chris Argent, whose role in season 5 was minimal, to say the least. Steamrolling towards all things Allison, let’s hope Argent’s conclusion is a happy one.

It’s important to remind readers; in my optimism, that Allison wouldn’t be the first Argent to return, following her Aunt and Beastly Ancestor in recent seasons. Her own return is also alluded to, through Crystal Reed’s depiction of her ancestor, and her spiritual presence, that proved significant enough to hinder Sebastian aka the beast.

With the apparent immortality of Scott’s girlfriends – even with Arden Cho’s exit – and the show’s embrace of everything completely ‘out there’ – going to biblical proportions this year – does nothing to dull my hope.

Also returning from what seemed to be his apparent death – or as good as – is Theo, whose return seems to be essential to taking on all things mythical.

As our favourite teenagers, border on the line of existing or being erased, it is Stiles who reverently claims “somebody’s going to remember me, they’ll come for me”. Whether it be Lydia’s ever-present Banshee inclination, Peter Hale’s return or Theo’s resurrection, it seems only someone outside of Beacon Hill’s bounds can save Scott and his pack.

Returning back to the notion that nothing stays dead, alongside Theo’s resurrection, perhaps it really is Alison who can save them all.

With Derek aka Tyler Hoechlin and Jackson aka Colton Haynes, having found homes in the DC universe, I’m still hopeful that an original cast member will return to save the day and close out the series.

Check out the Trailer below!

What are your thoughts?

Following the escalation of norms that the series has become, is Allison’s return that far-fetched?
