Friends, I can say with all honesty that last week’s Game of Thrones premiere was one of the best episodes of the show that I’ve seen! We covered a lot of ground, traveling across Westeros and Essos to catch up with our favorite (and not so favorite) characters. Things are still very tenuous, but I still finished the episode with a modicum of hope (though this might be foolish of me). Here are some of my favorite moments from “The Red Woman“:

  • Call me ridiculous, but I *still* think Jon Snow will come back to life! It’s just a matter of when and how… For now, I’m grateful that Ser Davos and the few Nights Watch that are loyal to Jon are guarding his body. Hopefully the Wildlings will offer their support as well. Typically, I don’t wish anyone death (most of all a child), but every time I saw Ser Alliser and Ollie on screen I wanted to punch something for their betrayal!
  • I think my fave moment of the night was watching Brienne pledge fealty to Sansa and having Sansa accept. Brienne kept her oath to Catelyn (and Jaime) and now Sansa has someone guarding her back. Also, it may be too soon, but I think Theon (yes, Theon, no longer Reek!) has redeemed himself. He was willing to give his life to protect Sansa, even if it meant going back to Ramsay. Hopefully this is our first step to a Stark Family Reunion!
  • I was NOT, in any way, expecting the Sand Snakes to continue their war. First Myrcella, then Doran and his guards, and even my boo Trystane got the axe (well, the spear). Does this mean Ellaria and the Sand Snakes will rule Dorne? Will they take their war to King’s Landing too?
  • Speaking of King’s Landing, I don’t think this season is going to end well for the Lannisters. Cersei kept referring to the prophecy she received. According to Pop Sugar, all the elements of the prophecy have come true, meaning that Tommen is on his way out soon. However, in the books, there’s an interesting addition to the prophecy: “And when your tears have drowned you, the Valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.” “Valonqar” means “little brother” in Valyrian — and if we are taking that literally, that means Tyrion… or Jaime.” See what I mean? The Lannisters time at the top is coming to an end!
  • #SaveArya: She’s not going to be blind for much longer, will she?! And why would the Waif beat Arya up like that???
  • #SaveDany: Watching my Queen and Khaleesi give Khal Moro and his Dothraki a set down was awesome! However, it doesn’t seem to end well because she’s headed to the Temple of the Dosh Khaleen.
  • #THEREDWOMAN: I’m just going to leave this pic right here and that’s all I have to say about that…

What were your favorite moments from “The Red Woman”?

In tonight’s episode, we finally catch up with Bran (*EXCITE*). Check out the synopsis for “Home” (written by Dave Hill, directed by Jeremy Podeswa):

Bran trains with the Three-Eyed Raven. In King’s Landing, Jaime advises Tommen. Tyrion demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night’s Watch stands behind Thorne. Ramsay Bolton proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy entertains other proposals. (via HBO)

The episode stills released from HBO confirm that we’ll be spending time with Bran, the Greyjoys, and in Meereen.

Take a look at two clips from “Home”. In the first, we get a brief glimpse of Bran coming out of a warging session. The second clip is the episode preview which shows several scenes, including Jaime confronting High Sparrow and Tyrion (maybe) releasing the dragons:
