Sassenachs, we’re getting closer and closet to the end of Droughtlander. As of today we’re just TWO WEEKS away from Outlander‘s Season 2 premiere! Truth be told, I have no idea what to do with all my excitement. STARZ has been so good about helpis us out with teasers of upcoming episodes and we’ve got a couple more for you here.
In this new featurette we learn more about how Outlander‘s cast and crew went about creating the lavish world of 18th Century Paris. Interviews with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, as well as production designer John Gary Steele and set decorator Gina Cromwell give us some fantastic insight into the contrasts between the first and second seasons. We learn about the ornate details of the set creation and costume design, and filming old-world Paris in Prague.
We also get glimpses of new scenes from Outlander Season 2, including an (ominous) meeting between Claire and King Louis; Jamie “plotting” with Prince Charlie; Claire and Murtagh going to L’Hopital des Anges for the first time; Fergus helping Jamie from a carriage after arriving home; some sexy times girl-talk between Claire, Mary Hawkins, and Louise de Rohan. One of the things that makes the first season of Outlander so compelling is the careful attention to detail when depicting the Scottish Highlands and the intricacies of clan life. It’s amazing to see how this continues into the new season on such a grand scale. *EXCITE*
