‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Officially Commences Production

March 25, 2016 By Katie Leave a Comment

Marvel Studios has begun principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is slated to hit U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017.

The time has finally arrived! Marvel studios announced last month that principal photography for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 started on February 17, 2016 at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios. If it wasn’t exciting enough that the film is in production, Chris Pratt announced a contest earlier this week with the prize being a visit to the set and lunch with him! All the information you need is at the end of this post.

The first movie ended with us being more confused about Peter’s family, but it seems like the second installment of the franchise will attempt to clear that up for us:

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

The film marks the return of James Gunn as writer/director as well as the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (as the voice of Groot), Bradley Cooper (as the voice of Rocket), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Sean Gunn (Kraglin).

New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, and Kurt Russell. While these casting have been announced, Marvel hasn’t specified the characters most of them will be portraying in the film.

I’m so excited for this sequel!

Guardians of the Galaxy is a great escape from the angst of upcoming Marvel movies. I’m also really happy that this film will focus on our team of misfits trying to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) parentage. His mother was a human, but his father is an alien. Back in 1988, his father paid Yondu to retrieve Peter from Earth, but he never delivered him, so it’s a good bet the truth lies with Yondu.

Now, getting it out of Yondu will be a completely different story…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated to hit theaters May 5, 2017.

Feels good to be back in action on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2!!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Ok I’ll try. I’m ecstatic. I’m bursting with joy. I’m overwhelmed by feelings of enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, exhilaration. I just used an online thesaurus for these words. I suggest trying that. That way instead of saying “I’m very excited” say, “I’m exhilarated.” Never too late to learn words. The pen is mightier than the sword. I never got that. I could whoop someone’s ass if I had a sword and they only had a pen. WAIT!!! Now I get it. Cause you could use a giant pen with a dagger on one end? And a gun on the other end? No? Whatever. Point is… Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Is going to be the greatest spectacle film of all time. This is not…. bear with me… using online thesaurus….. Hyperbole! This is not hyperbole!
